Lections in French and English
Prof. Michael Ustinoff, DLitt of University of Nice Sophia Antipolis (France) gave lections for students and teachers of the BelSU Institute of Cross-cultural Communications and International Relations.
Prof. Ustinoff gave a lecture in English, – “Globalization and development of languages”. At the lection students discussed problems of ubiquitous language for all countries and considered English as a ubiquitous international language.
Professor did strong emphasis on the lecture “Problems of literary translation from Russian into foreign languages”, which he gave in English and in French. In the lection he cited examples from the novel “Master y Margarita” (The Master and Margarita) by M. A. Bulgakov and told about the problems which occur when translator tries to keep author’s style.
“Professor Ustinoff speaks five languages, including Russian, freely. The lections were very interesting and educational for students and teachers, so no one missed an opportunity to ask some questions to professor at the end of it”, – said the teacher of ICCIR Yulia Miroshnichenko.
